 Welcome to Motley Junction
Motely End 2020. The Year of Lock Down.
I had been creating Gasworks Junction and the basic layout was 80% complete. While running Motley In The Shed one afternoon I realised I could create a space on the upper level where I stored stock. So I cleared 10ft by 3ft and ordered some points. Due to the Lock Down I couldn't get Peco so I bought some Hornby points. I had plenty of Peco 100 track left over from previous Motley layouts I had dismantled. I was hoping to include overhead lines in Gasworks Junction but the curves where far too tight. I managed to incorporate them into Motley End. The layout is a combination of a preserved line working with a BR line in the early 1960's in East Anglia. It's based very loosely on Holt Station on the North Norfolk Railway.

On the right the two small photos show the old Hornby over-head gantry system. Its simple and robust. The two 0-4-0 locos on the train of Tri-ang 9" coaches are Tri-ang. The over-head isn't powered.
